Telegram Pomodoro Bot: Focus Timers Solo or Study Together

The pomodoro method works because it removes decisions: one timer, one task, one short break, repeat. But running timers in yet another app while your work and your team chat live in Telegram just splits attention further. Focus Timer (FocusTimerProBot) puts the timer where the distractions are.

Run /focus 25 and the bot starts a cron-driven timer — nothing to watch, nothing to keep alive. When time is up it messages you with an end message and a short break prompt, and quietly keeps a daily total of focus minutes plus a streak of days you focused. It does not know what you worked on, only that the timer ran.

In a group, /focus becomes a shared study-together session: other members tap Join before it starts, all timers run together, and the bot posts one end-of-session summary naming everyone who focused with you. This guide covers both modes, the free limits, and what Pro adds.

Steps

  1. Start a solo session with /focus. DM the bot and run /focus 25 to start a 25-minute timer. Free sessions come in 15, 25, or 50 minutes, capped at 5 per day. When the timer ends you get a message plus a short break prompt — no need to keep the chat open while it runs.
  2. Stop early with the ⏹ button. Tap the ⏹ Stop button on the session card if you finish (or bail) early — there is no separate command. Only the minutes actually completed are logged, not the length you originally asked for, so your stats stay honest.
  3. Run a study-together session in a group. Run /focus in a group with the bot added. Other members can tap Join on the session card before it starts; everyone runs the same timer together, and when it ends the bot posts one summary naming everyone who focused with you — a small nudge of accountability.
  4. Track streaks with /focus stats. Run /focus stats anytime for your focus minutes today, this week, and your current daily streak. The bot stores only session lengths per user per day — enough for totals and streaks, nothing about what you were doing.
  5. Pro: custom lengths, notes, weekly report. Pro (one-time 150 Stars per user) unlocks any timer length in minutes, unlimited daily sessions instead of 5, session notes attached to a timer, and a weekly focus report sent by DM on Sundays — set the send hour with /hour 9.

FAQ

Is there a pomodoro bot for Telegram?
Yes — Focus Timer (FocusTimerProBot) runs pomodoro-style timers with /focus 25, keeps daily totals and streaks, and supports group study-together sessions where members join one shared timer.
What happens when the focus timer ends?
The bot sends you an end message and a short break prompt. In a group session it also posts one summary naming everyone who joined and focused.
How long can free focus sessions be?
Free sessions are 15, 25, or 50 minutes, capped at 5 per day. Pro removes the cap and allows any custom length.
Does the bot know what I worked on?
No. It stores only each completed session's length in minutes per user per day — enough for totals, streaks, and the weekly report, nothing about the work itself.
