An alert is a notification at a threshold you choose, not an order to buy or sell. The bot checks on a five-minute schedule, so it shouldn't be treated as a tick-by-tick execution system. Each alert fires once and is then removed.
Set a price threshold you want to watch
- Start TickMyPriceBot privately and send /price btc eth. Read the returned coin names as well as the symbols so you're following the asset you intended.
- Choose your own threshold and create an alert, for example /alert btc above 100000. That number is an example of command syntax, not a price forecast or recommendation.
- Check /alerts to confirm the rule. Remove an unwanted rule with /rma and its listed number. If an alert fires and you still want to watch a threshold, create another rule.
Public quotes and private monitoring
A group can use /price or /market to discuss a quote, regardless of how many members join the discussion. Alerts and watchlists belong in your private bot chat. Don't post personal thresholds in a group if you want to keep that monitoring private.
What changes beyond the free limits
Free use includes 10 active alerts and a five-coin watchlist, with seven-day charts. Optional Pro costs 150 Stars once per person for up to 100 alerts, a 20-coin watchlist and the top-100 market table instead of the free top three.

Privacy
- The bot stores your watchlist coins and your alert lines (coin, direction, target price) per user, so it can answer /watchlist and check alerts.
- When an alert fires it is marked as sent and removed — the bot messages you once per alert, never repeatedly.
- Prices come from the CoinGecko public API and are cached for a minute; no wallet addresses or balances are ever requested.
