Privacy

• Each expense you log — amount and the note text you sent — is stored per user, so /today, /week, /month, and CSV export can total and list them back to you.
• The category is guessed from keywords in your note and stored alongside the expense; it's only ever used to build your own totals.
• This is a DM-only bot — nothing you log is posted to a group or visible to anyone but you.

How do I log an expense?

Send a DM to the bot starting with a number, like "12.50 coffee" — the number is logged as the amount and the rest of the message is saved as a note used to guess a category.

How does category guessing work?

The bot matches keywords in your note text (like "coffee" or "uber") against a built-in list to pick a category automatically; there's no manual category picker.

What happens when I hit my /budget cap?

The bot sends you an alert once your logged total for the month crosses the cap you set with /budget — it doesn't block further logging.
